Family Constellations

Family Constellations is a holistic healing modality that helps individuals address personal challenges rooted in their past, family, and ancestral history. This unique approach is renowned for its efficiency in identifying the underlying causes of a person’s issues.

The practice is guided by three systemic principles known as the “Orders of Love”: Belonging, Order, and Balance. These principles provide a framework for understanding and resolving familial and personal dynamics.

German psychologist Bert Hellinger, who developed Family Constellations in the late 1980s, is the method’s founder. Hellinger’s interest in systemic work began during his time as a missionary in South Africa in the 1950s, where he was inspired by the Zulu people’s customs and ceremonies that emphasized understanding and connection.

A central feature of Family Constellations is the connection with ancestors. This method offers a spatial and visual representation of a system, revealing how historical family dynamics and survival strategies shape current patterns of behaviour. These patterns, often unconscious, are passed down through generations.

Systemic work operates on the assumption that individuals are part of various groups—family, school, sports clubs, regions, countries, and societies—each driven by unconscious patterns and dynamics. A constellation session, facilitated by a systemic facilitator, involves exploring and observing personal questions and patterns within a system without judgment. The goal is to make these dynamics visible, allowing space for new movement and change.

By addressing these deep-seated issues, Family Constellations can foster healing and personal growth, offering a transformative experience for those seeking to understand and resolve their inner conflicts.

Family Constellations are offered in group and in one-on-one sessions.
